As a reporter for People magazine, the Miami Herald, and Fairchild Publications (Women’s Wear Daily, Home Furnishings News, Supermarket News, and Footwear News), I had the opportunity to write about all aspects of business. I interviewed U. S. presidents and corporate CEOS, covered investor meetings, and walked trade show floors. I even attended black tie events–tape recorder tucked into in my evening bag.
That knowledge about how business works allows me to guide companies–from major corporations to mom-and-pop stores–in developing a compelling message that resonates across social media, attracts mass media, and increases sales. Retail is my passion and I understand the importance of making the shopping experience successful for both merchants and customers.
I keep abreast of market intelligence, so whether I’m working as a consultant, professional speaker, or writer, you’ll benefit.

Kind words I’ve received
Laurel hit the nail right on the head. She targeted her presentation to our attendee’s needs by researching and exploring their businesses before hand. People left with ideas they could put to use right away.
Libby Dowd, Dance Retailer News Expo 2011
The Dallas Market Center’s buyers and retailers had nothing but kind words to say about Laurel Tielis’s presentation. She was informative, witty, and best of all, relatable to our audience. She provided our audience with great advice they can utilize when they return home to their retail stores. Laurel was a delight to work with and I look forward to working together again in the near future!
Emily Forsythe, Dallas Market Center
I enjoyed your seminar, bought the book and read it immediately. It offered good advise and practical examples. What I liked most about the book was it inspired me. Thank you many times for this. I wrote a “draft” press release that same day. Well, let me tell you it paid off right away.

I cannot tell you how much your class meant to me. I walked away feeling that I have an action plan and information I need to get started with it. How many times can you spend an hour with someone and get this much information. Thank you so much.

I really enjoyed attending your seminars. I knew nothing about marketing before your talks, but you provided me with a lot of useful information that will help me with my notary/loan signing business. I am going to use your newsletter approach and my mind is whirling with all the new things I’ll be doing.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your book. I thought it was fun to read and very informative. The sample press kit materials and lists of ideas were great. I am going to give one to a friend of mine who is opening a boutique. Great work!
